Why does every other Indian settled abroad write like this?

A rather convoluted status message by Edward Lopes on the Facebook page of Goa+ , after reading which made me realise here is another India-basher who has no pride in his own country.  Lopes is a Goan settled in Sharjah for over 20 years.
I am writing my comments under each paragraph in brackets:
Hamara Bharat Mahaan Hai - Great India
THE CONFUSED NATION THAT WE ARE... BUT STILL THE COUNTRY IS GREAT!

A policeman kills a leopard that is actually attacking a
villager, and instead of being felicitated he is booked for
the crime of saving a human being, at the insistence, of some
Wildlife Organisations.
(This occured in Agasaim in Goa a few years ago - the policeman was felicitated, but an offence had also been booked. Under wildlife protection act, every unnatural death of a wild animal is booked as an offence. It does not necessarily mean punishment. It is just a record of wild animal death. And the offence is not booked at the insistence of any wildlife organisation, but is a requirement by law.)

A nation where
Rice is Rs.40/- per kg and SIM Card is free.
Where a pizza you have ordered reaches home faster than an ambulance or police, even if you were being attacked or having a heart attack.
(You pay a one-time charge of rs. 40 for rice; but the free SIM card entails a recurring expenditure thereafter. In other words, you get a free rice bag and you have to pay maybe rs.300 every time you want some rice in your rice bag!
Similarly, a pizza is delivered faster because there will be only a very limited number of pizzas ordered every hour; whereas the number of people asking police and ambulance help may be hundred times more - there is only that many people who man either service. Incidentally, there may be only 10 pizza delivery boys on duty, but there may be over 100 policemen on duty at a time.)

A nation where
A car loan is charged at 5% but an education loan, so necessary for our youth is charged an interest of 12%
(Car loan appears to be charged less because you start repaying immediately, but an education loan is a long term loan that you start repaying when you start earning. Try missing one or two instalments on your car loan and see the difference!)

A nation where
students with 45% get into elite institutions through the
quota system and those with 90% are sent away because of merit.
(The quota system is for brilliant students who cannot afford quality education because of restrictions like poor financial conditions, caste discrimination; and the number of students who get this benefit is much much less than the total student strength. )

A nation where
A millionaire buys a cricket team, spending crores instead of
donating the money to any charity.
(For the millionaire it is just another business proposition and he invests so much in it is because there are fools who spend good hard earned money to buy exorbitantly priced tickets to see them play in spite of the same being available at a pittance in the comfort of his drawing room. The day the fools become wise, nobody will spend crores.)

A nation where
Two IPL teams were auctioned at 3300 crores,
yet still a poor country where people starve for two square meals per day.
(Same as above. Except that even the person starving for two square meals will spend part of his earnings for betting on a IPL team.)

A country where
Ordinary salary tax payer is fined for error in paying little less in tax but the IPL collecting thousands crores has not paid any income tax and no body has issue on it.
(IPL had paid income tax of rs. 67 crore and till 2010 was promoted as a charitable event. This was withdrawn in 2010 and the income tax dept slapped a demand of rs. 684 crore for the past 3 years on account of this. It is not true that "nobody has issues on it".)

A country where
Footwear is sold in AC showrooms, but the vegetables we eat,
are sold on the footpath and very often next to garbage dumps.
(Footwear stock lasts a year with higher profit margin, and some super markets stock vegetables in AC showrooms, too. What you get on footpaths next to garbage dumps are illegal vendors avoiding payment of municipal taxes. You always have the option of not buying it there.)

A nation where
Everybody wants to be famous, not by doing good for others, but by looting others and finally getting their names in the
newspapers through some scam or other!
(Looters have no intention of getting their names in papers; in fact have no intention in getting caught. Its only here in India that even Sachin Tendulkar can be criticized for evading taxes on his Ferari, if you know what I mean.)

Its a strange nation

we live in, where assembly complex buildings get ready within a year while public bridges, flyovers and sea links take several years even to get off the drawing board and another decade to be completed.
(Buildings and bridges are built fastest where land is already acquired or there is no litigation in land acquisition; sea links are delayed because you and I are given opportunity to express our opinion and dissent in our democracy.)

We have malls, and sky-rises,
with slums forming their boundary wall.
(Malls and sky-rises come first, slums move in next. There are slums everywhere around the world if you know where to look. take a look at these slums in detroit)

A country where
men and women squat on railway tracks, with no where else to go while watching them from windows, are couples with three bathrooms and one for the guests.
(check this image - certainly not India)

(The rest of this diatribe is a cock-eyed view of democracy by a person settled in the UAE, and is to be expected)
 A country where
politicians who are supposed to serve the people accept money from the same people they are supposed to serve, then
take a salary from the government for their services to the people.

where we talk in hushed whispers about the corruption in the
country and then dig into our pockets to bribe a cop when we
are caught cutting a red light.

A country
Where to get service in police needs minimum qualification of graduation,
Whereas no qualification is required for the politician to get elected to run the govt.

A country
Where our soldiers are arrested on the border and jailed by neighbouring countries and do not get proper food / facilities, whereas militants from neighbouring countries when arrested and jailed in our jails are served biryani on demand.

Think about it;

We are a confused nation, aren't we ??

"Extending one hand to help somebody has more value, than joining two hands for prayer..........
